ALUMNI STADIUM – BC Students rushed to the field today after a hard-fought victory over the Newton North High School football team. Quarterback Dennis Grosel (CSOM ’20) plowed through 9th-grader Little Timmy Edwards for the game-winning score as time expired in the 4th quarter.
Students then flooded from the student section onto the field, chanting “We Want Bama” and hoisting second-year coach Jeff Hafley into the air in celebration.
“After last week’s victory over an SEC school,” said Hafley, “It felt good to get one against a team from the Bay State Conference. This is a real turning point for our program.”
Still undefeated, the Eagles head to #25 Clemson this week with the utmost confidence.
“We really picked apart Newton North’s defensive schemes,” said Offensive Coordinator Frank Cignetti, “We’re confident that that will translate well to this week’s matchup at Clemson. In a lot of ways, Newton North and Clemson have very similar defensive styles.”
At press time, students were seen circling BC’s 2022 matchup against Bridgewater State as a potential opportunity to storm the field next.
