GASSON QUAD – Espresso your faith week is here! What does that mean? No one is totally sure. However, while some BC students celebrate with a latte or a trip to St. Ignatius, true Jesuits affirm their faith by being re-baptized with blessed cold brew.

Crowds congregated on the Gasson Quad as students lined up to get into a coffee cup-shaped dunk-tank, where members of Campus Ministry dropped them into a pool of Dunkin cold brew. “I feel like a brand new person,” said Salee D. Prived, who was shaking from the force of the Holy Spirit, or possibly due to taking 500 mg of caffeine. Complementary lattes were provided to all students who participated, although many complained that they tasted like dishwater.

In honor of the occasion, Boston College invited Sabrina Carpenter to kick off the festivities by performing her hit single “Espresso” at the event. Sabrina was excited to perform, opening her set by saying, “After all, Jesus was a carpenter,” eliciting some confused looks from Theology students.

A short mass was held afterwards where glazed munchkins were used as the Body of Christ. Campus has smelled vaguely of donuts ever since, and many students have been exploring their new found faith through Dunkin’s collab with BC.

The Chocolate Bar is now partnered with Dunkin, and will serve both Starbucks and Dunkin drinks. Service will probably be slower than ever and wildly inconsistent, in true Dunkin fashion.

Many students have questioned Campus Ministry’s repeated coffee theme and its connection to faith. However, when asked to comment, we were simply forwarded an email that had already been sent out 3 times this week.

Whatever you believe in, Boston College students know the power of caffeine. Whether its the influence of God or coffee getting you through your 9 am, remember to Espresso your Faith!
