CONTE FORUM  In a press conference earlier this week, Martin Jarmond announced that Jerry York would be the director of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean On Ice.

The musical, icy adaptation will premiere in the spring in Conte Forum at the conclusion of the hockey season.

“I’ve always loved the look of pirates, and so I thought what better way to spend the off-season than some good old-fashioned musical pirate fun,” Coach York said at the press conference. “RRRRrrrrr!”

When asked about the significant amount of money Boston College plans to spend on the event, President William P. Leahy, S.J., said, “You know, I’m usually not a big fan of these so-called ‘arts,’ but with Jerry’s name on it, it’s sure to be a success.”

Star player Spencer Knight reportedly has his eyes on playing the lead role, Captain Jack Sparrow. He has been spotted rehearsing several songs set to appear in the show, including “What Will You Do With a Drunken Sailor,” the classic sea shantey, and “A Pirate Says Arrr,” from The Backyardigans.

At press time, the hockey team was seen sword-fighting in the locker room.
