YAWKEY ATHLETIC CENTER — In the wake of Florida State University head football coach Willie Taggert’s firing last week, speculation has swirled about who the program will bring in to replace him. The New England Classic can now confidently report that current Boston College head football coach, Steve Addazio, will be accepting the position, effective tomorrow morning.
This comes in the wake of an entirely underwhelming BC football season under the leadership of Coach Addazio, with losses to teams like Kansas and overall poor performance.
“We’re really surprised he’s leaving, honestly,” said one sophomore member of the team, who spoke under the condition of anonymity. “At this point we thought he was untouchable and had just resigned ourselves to Steve for at least another season.”
Coach Addazio will continue to coach Boston College through tomorrow’s game, sources have confirmed. He is also scheduled to begin his coaching job at FSU for tomorrow’s game.
When asked for comment on this, Addazio said “I recently watched this movie, not sure if you’ve heard of it. Called ‘Mrs. Doubtfire.’ It was not only hilarious, but gave me some really great ideas about how to finish out my tenure as BC coach and start at FSU.”
At press time, Addazio was seen sewing velcro to a polo shirt and onto the backs of both a Boston College and Florida State logo, and also making a large batch of whipped cream.
