WALL STREET — NASDAQ will headline this year’s Modstocks, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) announced Tuesday. Dow Jones, 2019 Battle of the Bonds winner, will open for the annual spring trading event.

Last year’s headliner, the S&P 500, faced controversy after the index was found to support flat earth corporations and anti-semitic think tanks.

Modstocks, which is celebrating its seventh year as the campus’ most widely anticipated stock market festival, will be held on the last day of classes, Thursday, May 2. Tickets will be available April 26 and 27 to any student with a properly formatted resume, cover letter, and padfolio.

NASDAQ, originally the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations, is known for producing countless Top 100 hits, including favorites AMZN, NFLX, and SBUX — all popular among CSOM students doing last-minute finance projects.

Dow Jones, an index rather than an exchange, should prime the crowds nicely for the headliner with one-hit wonders such as Verizon and Johnson & Johnson.

Students should attend the event in business casual attire, and conceal their beverages in Carroll School of Management YETI mugs if possible.

As is tradition, Modstocks will be preceded by the annual Mudstocks tournament, a chance for Boston College startups to spread nasty rumors about their elevator pitch competitors.
