BOSTON COLLEGE — The Classic received a stream of reports about helicopters hovering over campus this morning, an event aerophile communities consider both “gratuitous aerial distraction” and “still super cool”.
The sight left many speechless, but one junior captured the experience vividly. “So I was just like in my room doing homework and then all of a sudden I heard this really loud BRRRRRR and I was like, hey, I think that’s a helicopter. And then I ran over to the window and I was like, woah, it IS a helicopter,” reported Wes Updug (MCAS ’22), “And then my roommate came back and he — HOLY shit! Guys! Another one! . . . Woah. Sick.”
Many students appeared to agree with Updug’s assessment, as evidenced by hundreds of upturned faces and satisfied nods.
Excited freshman Sue Kool (CSOM ’24) told us, “Yes so like, of course I’ve seen helicopters before but there were just so many today. I would see one and be like ‘eh wahhhhhhh?’ And then all of a sudden I would hear something behind me and I’d turn and look and — oh my God — there was always ANOTHER helicopter. A friend! It was just like ‘Woah!’ You know? Every time I was like, there can’t be another one, and then there it was! God, I love college.”
At press time, students were seen — hold on I see one! Up there! Haha, nice. Yeah. Helicopter.
