“It’s Actually Kind Of Underground…” WZBC Host Is Going To “Music City” For Fall Break

BACK OF MAC — “Yeah, Broadway is SO mainstream…we’re actually staying on 5th Ave,” said WZBC Host Beesy Indy (MCAS ’27) between sips of an Enlightenmint Yerba Mate during his 12:00 AM FM show. Beesy is driving 17 hours to “Music City” for Fall Break, emphasizing how his friend group is “big into road trippin’…free from the shackles of corporate airlines.” Upon further research, the Classic discovered that Indy had instead booked a luxury RV and driver to chauffeur his Iggy Quad to and around Nashville.
The itinerary for Indy’s weekend includes trips to grassroot speakeasies featuring bluegrass acoustic girl bands, Dollywood, and a local brewery for pumpkin IPAs. Indy’s roommate, Norman Guy (CSOM ’27) told the Classic, “I really want to go to Morgan Wallen’s ‘This Bar’ and get one of those novelty boot cups, but Beesy is tweaking about what will happen to his ‘niche rep’ if we’re caught there. But, I think I can convince him if my girlfriend promises not to bring her digital camera.”
Ever since Beesy interned for WZBC during his sophomore year, he has exclusively worn wired earbuds, stopped wearing real deodorant, and traded in nights at Circle for Silhouette Lounge. Although Indy is an economics major with a well-paying job at Goldman Sachs lined up after graduation, when people ask, Indy says that he is a film studies major. In reality, film studies is the minor he dropped last fall after his dad threatened to withdraw him from Boston College for failing statistics.
On the road, Indy and friends made stops for gas station matcha and filled their Trader Joe’s tote bags with “vintage western garb,” like oversized Buc-ee’s T-shirts. Beesy had trouble deciding between a bandana or toothpick behind his ear as an accessory when getting dressed for his first excursion in “Music City.” Nonetheless, Beesy’s day one Nashville fit was “total steez,” including thrifted Levi’s 501s, a leather vest, and a belt that Indy would never admit was from Abercrombie & Fitch.
Indy and his roommates were last seen on Broadway customizing cowboy hats for a future gameday outfit. While he was featured in multiple photo ops, Beesy asked for pictures to be sent to him for approval before posting on Instagram.
