Spooky! 23 People Murdered At CAB’s Haunted Lawn Event
STOKES LAWN — Nearly two dozen Boston College students appeared to get more than they bargained for last week at the Campus Activities Board (CAB) “Haunted Lawn” event when 23 people were unable to make it out of the lawn alive.
Students who survived the experience reportedly found it difficult to recount the events that happened without breaking down into tears, but a few told reporters from The New England Classic about the horrors they witnessed.
“I walked in and saw some CAB members wearing scary masks and chasing kids around with knives. I was impressed by how realistic they made it,” said Haunted Lawn survivor James Curtis (MCAS ‘20). “But then, I watched a freshman get legitimately stabbed to death by a CAB senior in a Mike Myers mask.”
Curtis added that he had to find his way out of other terrifying ordeals, including a zombie attack, an exorcism, and a simulation of trying to traverse the Boston College campus in a wheelchair.
The director of the Haunted Lawn, Joe Hashlings-Lasher, said he was “surprised” that people weren’t expecting the event to be so extreme.
“It’s called the ‘Haunted Lawn,’ so, I mean, I don’t really get what the confusion was,” he said. “Do they not know what ‘haunted’ means?”
At press time, CAB was laying out plans for an event in November called “Murder Your Own Turkey on Upper for Thanksgiving Dinner.”
