DUKE POST-GAME INTERVIEW — The Boston College men’s football team suffered a truly disastrous loss on Saturday, scoring only two points to Duke’s 47. Not only was this the lowest-scoring game this season, but it was also the lowest-scoring game in recent BC history. The most recent upset of this scale was November 19th, 2022, when BC was sodomized by Notre Dame 44-0.

For players and coaches, Saturday’s loss alone would be one for the history books, but that’s not all. After the game, sports analysts and determined fans found that Bill O’Brien led his ragtag group of misfit players to something greater than a triumphant loss: a college football Scorigami.

The New England Classic reporters were on the scene when Bill O’Brien gave the postgame press conference after his lowest-scoring game since he took the position of Head Coach for the Eagles. “It was a rough day,” O’Brien admitted, “but we’re all in this together.” Then, commenting on the team’s 15 penalties, roughly ten more than the college football average, O’Brien said, “Yeah, we’re chuds.”

As O’Brien was about to comment on Duke’s running back, Nate Sheppard, he received the news of the historical achievement the Eagles had accomplished that day. O’Brien, who could barely contain his excitement, said, “Well, actually, we made history tonight.”

The room of five reporters, two of whom were Classic reporters, raised their eyebrows.

O’Brien continued, “We earned the history we made tonight. Not only did we play our lowest-scoring game since 2022 and commit an atrociously above-average number of penalties, but we also achieved a college football first tonight. On that field, under that hot sun, we did what no other college football team has ever done. We lost, valiantly, to Duke with a never-before-seen score of 2-47. A college football Scorigami. A college football Scorigami that we earned, that we fought for, that we achieved.”

“I could not be more proud of these boys for what they put out on that field today,” O’Brien said, “They made the impossible happen.”
