RESLIFE’S VATICAN-ESQUE CHAPEL — In recent news from the Vatican, newly appointed Pope Leo XIV is shaking things up in the Papal suite. These changes are historic in their nature, as no other Pope has been brave enough to make these changes their hearts have secretly desired. Yet, Pope Leo XIV is coming out with this news with his head held high and empowered by the Popes of the past.
Pope Leo XIV’s major change to the Papal suite is the addition of his four male “roommates.” These men are the Pope’s closest “friends” and his most trusted “advisors” who have been by his side for many, many years.
In reaction to this major papal change, the office of BC Residential Life has decided to make some changes of their own. ResLife has announced a new and spectacularly furnished 5-Man suite. This new housing opportunity allows BC students to live together with their four closest “friends,” just like the Pope.
In addition to the number of “roommates” allowed in the suite, the 5-Man is a male-only experience in alignment with the papacy. But don’t worry, the similarities do not stop there! The suites, which will replace all of the Mods due to their proximity to St.Ignatius, will feature many decor choices reflective of the papal roots. This includes, but is not limited to: gold molding, a singular golden mattress with matching sheets and canopy, and several gold statues of God’s youngest and sexiest angels.
Yet, the main feature of these 5-Mans is the “community” room that replaces the main common room. These community rooms, which mirror the Pope’s language of brotherhood, will include several opportunities for engagement between the roommates. Items like journals, games, and certain beaded, ribbed, and bendy toys will be included in each room to deepen their connection.
ResLife Director, Mr. Hanall Uver, says that these changes “reflect BC’s values” and is excited to see how these 5-Mans will change the lives of the male BC undergraduates who get the chance to experience them.
