U.S. ROUTE 42 — With the marathon fast approaching, hordes of students are eager to flaunt that they have the discipline and commitment to run 26.2 miles and won’t be wasting their day away drinking. However, one student has been left unimpressed by their accomplishments and wants to remind the students running that he is actually better than them.
“Only 26.2 miles? Pfft… I could do that in my sleep. Actually I did do it in my sleep. I walked hundreds of miles on my journey from home to BC, and I didn’t stop a single time, so I would sleepwalk portions of it. I think I slept walked about 200 miles of the journey, so 26.2 miles seems like any old Monday to me,” proclaimed Brooks Fila (MCAS ’23).
“I’ve been considering walking the marathon, but it honestly might be below my pay grade,” Fila added. “It’s a been there, done that situation. If you climbed Mount Everest, would you be dying to show people that you can climb some stairs? Not really.”
At press time, Fila was seen booing oncoming runners on Mile 21. However, when we informed him that many of the runners are contributing to a charitable cause, his jeers quickly turned into cheers.
