BC Dining Announces New Leprechaun Meat Burger

LOWER LIVE — To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, BC Dining recently announced that it will serve a special Leprechaun Burger. The traditional Gaelic delight consists of a ground-leprechaun patty and will be offered in all dining halls from March 9th to 17th. The Classic surveyed Boston College students about their response to the new sandwich; students cited nutrition concerns and the presence of ginger hair within the ground patties. Fr. William P. Leahy, S.J., announced that this change was inspired by the “fantastic work” of Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. In a recent post on X, he celebrated the protein density of BC’s new meat selection, “the new American diet is being paved by BC Dining.”
An on-site interview with Sean O’Gallagher (MCAS ‘27), an exchange student from Trinity College in Dublin, revealed how the burger became a smash hit amongst BC’s Irish Community. “I have never felt more at home than I do right now. When I was a child, my mom would always take me leprechaun hunting in the lush emerald fields of Éire. Now I can relive some of my favorite memories!”
However, there is some pushback amongst the BC community. On March 11th, a group of Boston College vegans picketed outside Lower Live in bloodied leprechaun costumes to protest what they deem to be a cruel injustice against innocent life. The group distributed pamphlets depicting baby leprechauns to students outside the main entrance. “Who in their right mind can claim to be moral and then facilitate the mass murder of countless precious leprechauns!” shouted Anthony Cromwell (LSEHD ‘28).
Overall, the reception amongst Boston College students has been very mixed. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that the Leprechaun Burger is sending shockwaves across dining halls and toilet bowls.
