MALONEY HALL — Uh oh! The Halloween decorations in Hillside Café came to life, and, boy, were they hungry!

When Frank Einstein (MCAS ’23) arrived for his shift early Friday morning, he quickly realized that something was amiss.

“First thing I noticed were the decorations, them being alive and all I mean,” said Einstein. “The second thing I noticed was that we were all out of Frips.”

Early reports indicate that the awakening was caused by an ancient spell placed on the decorations by a witch named Corydon Delacroix. Her motives are unknown at this time.

“We thought that decorating the space would be a cute way of getting students in the Halloween spirit,” said Hillside manager, Chez E. Caprisy. “There were never any indications that the decorations were sentient.”

Sources tell the Classic that the decorations were purchased online at “cursedhalloweendecorations.biz,” but there is no evidence of that website ever existing.

Despite the circumstances, Hillside Café remained open. Unfortunately for student diners, though, Lays chips were served in lieu of Frips.
