FOSTER STREET — Snow is on the ground, 2K four-mans are abound, and the Boston College Class of 2025 has returned to Chestnut Hill from their Fall semesters abroad. With hundreds of posts from the first weekend of the new semester flooding the timelines of Instagram, returnee Ira Levent’s (MCAS ‘25) post stood out with the caption: “We are so back.”
“I’ve been planning this post ever since I left for Madrid. I was so excited to finally show off my house on Foster. I mean technically it’s not mine ‘cause I’m the subtenant, but you get the gist,” Levent told the Classic. The post consisted of her and her five roommates next to a folding table and a BC flag hung on a spackled wall.
“It’s really great being back. I thought it would be weird since I’ve matured far past my Americanized peers in the past four months, but it really feels like I’ve never left!” said Levent.
She knew her posts abroad had kept everyone back at BC captivated. Not only did she switch out her going-out jeans for a black mini skirt, but she also switched her guy best friend from a BC dude named Will to a “BC in Madrid” dude named Jack.
“I don’t get it. Her Spanish accent is somehow worse than when she left,” said Stan Cupley (MCAS ‘25) who recognized her from a freshman year Spanish class.
Levent was shocked to be BC-lookawayed multiple times in the past week, but assumed it was because she had changed so much.
“I had no idea she was gone, to be honest. I thought it was a little weird when she asked me how my Fall semester was, like why not just ask me about my break like a normal person? But I thought she was just being nice,” said Peabody Sherman (CSOM ‘25).
At press time, Levent was seen explaining to her friends how much better Kapital is than the clubs in Boston and how her class schedule gets in the way of her siesta.
