“God dammit, not again,” said baseball player and A&S ’16 communications major Alexander O’Neill while on his knees digging through the snow near Edmonds Hall, looking for his white backpack. “I swear I put it down here somewhere.”

“I just put it down for like one minute, and then, all of a sudden, it’s gone like some kind of chameleon!” continued O’Neill. “It has to be around here somewhere. I had all my Environmental Geosciences books and notes in there! And my free iPad!”

This is not the first time this tragedy has struck in O’Neill’s life: He lost his backpack on both snow days last week. And O’Neill is not alone. The New England Classic would like to bring awareness to athletes’ losing their white backpacks around campus. Please, if you know any varsity athletes, tell them you love and care about them. Walk with them as they go through the snowy campus, and keep a keen eye on their white backpack.

“Being on the baseball team, I’m used to losing games. But I’m not used to losing my white backpack. This thing means the world to me! Coach is definitely not going to give me another one, and I need to wear it around campus or I’ll definitely stop getting laid.”
